I am weak...
February 26, 2006

Yesterday was a wet, drizzly cold day. I woke up with every intention of gong to services at the synagogue. I was dressed and ready. I called hubby (who had to go into work) to let him know where I would be and he said "I was gonna get some lunch at China Star later. Why don't you stay home. You went last night to the synagogue." I think I interrupted him to say "ok!". So we had a nice lunch and spent the day in the warm cozy house. When he went to take a nap, I went to Books-a-Million. I was only going to get the new Knit.1 and the Happy Hooker. But it didn't work out that way. I ended up getting the Happy Hooker and the sweaterbabe's book. There is a shawl collar sweater in there that I love and a really cute purse pattern. I also looked through the new Lion Brand book of vintage styles for today. There were a few cute things, but I'm going to hold off on buying it just yet.

I found the new Knit.1. Is it just me or is everything in there fugly? I used to be able to find a few things I liked, but this issue was chock full of gross. Oh well, there was a new Knit It and Creative Knitting to take up the slack.

I had a cup of coffee and perused my purchases. Debbie Stoller writes a great little intro in her book.
"How was it possible that any knitter could have anything of value to say to crocheters? Didn't I know that knitters and crocheters are like Sharks and Jets--they don't get along, they keep off each other's turf, they break into fights on the playground?"

This quote alone made the purchase worth it. I laughed out loud...and got a few stares...
